WHO ARE WE?

Primary school rugby was founded with the desire of helping coaches, parents, supporters and players with their rugby.

South Africa is a rugby mad nation and it is part of our DNA and runs through our veins.

Mr Nelson Mandela said the following;”Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite people in a way that little else does. It speaks to youth in a language they understand. Sport can create hope where once there was only despair.

PrimarySchoolRugby is passionately dedicated to uphold these truths spoken by Mr. Mandela and our website is dedicated to EDUCATE, EQUIP and ENHANCE all that is involved with Primary School Rugby in South Africa.

Through our website we will have respected coaches and players sharing their expertise and knowledge as well as Biokineticists, Nutritionists, strength and conditioning coaches and sport scientists providing valuable insight into the world of rugby especially focused on 7 – 13 years of age.

Our mission is also to bring recognition to all primary schools playing rugby and to provide insight on their culture, coaches, practices, tournaments and results.

We will also provide a Top 20 Ranking system to all U/13 and U/11 Rugby Teams that is a voluntary option to schools who wishes to participate in this project.  

The reason for this project is to identify the top rugby primary schools in South Africa, to provide recognition to the teams and coaches who have worked hard all season and to give High School Rugby Scouts the platform through our website to provide sport scholarships to young and developing talent. 

We support various initiatives such as BokSmart, SARU Development and any other projects and initiatives supporting and educating primary schools playing rugby.

We believe that rugby players playing rugby at primary school level should solely be focused on having fun and learning the fundamentals of this great game and fostering great relationships with their teammates and opposition teams.

We will be launching an initiative aimed at preventing shouting at the sidelines on players and referees in keeping with the right spirit in which any rugby game should be played with.

We are against win at all costs. The boy / girl always comes before the rugby player. No child should play with any injury.

We are starting an initiative to get the wheels rolling on girls playing rugby at primary school level. Please watch this space
